Puppy with tight hamstrings and hip musculature

Patient:

Zara (11 month old German Shepherd)

History/Reason for coming to Physiotherapy:

Zara presented to Physiotherapy as a 4 month old puppy. Her owner noticed her scuffing her hind end. The Veterinarian and breeders suggested Physiotherapy for management.

Goals:

Zara’s owner wants her to ensure she does everything she can to make sure Zara grows up with the best chance of no pain and optimal function to ensure she is happy in her own body

Management:

Upon assessment with Zara, it was found she had very tight hamstrings and hip musculature, and tightness through her lower back, causing her hind paws to drag and scuff.

Outcome:

Zara and her owner have been so dedicated to her home exercise program, massage, activity adjustments. Zara has improved in her gait and comfort exponentially thanks to the dedication of the owner.
